Growing Stronger Communities Together
A footpath has been created though the woodland belt surrounding the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital on Colney Lane.
The project was delivered by South Norfolk Council, working in partnership with Serco, and is their first project to be delivered using Community Infrastructre Levy (CIL) funding. Volunteers, including hospital staff and students and staff from the Easton and Otley College helped create the path.
David Yates - Norfolk County Council's Senior Trails Officer drew up the plans for the walk and advised during its development. "It's well-documented that contact with green spaces can be beneficial to health and well-being. This new walk makes great use of the hospital's woodland grounds and particularly its woodland belt. It's a wonderful new facility and will bring all the benefits of going for a walk in the woods to both staff and visitors."
