New processing plant proposed in Greater Norwich Food Enterprise Zone for Colman’s Mustard

15th August 2018

Condimentum Ltd have applied for permission to build a 65ft milling tower and six storage hopper silos to be built at the Food Enterprise Park. These will form part of a new purpose built, state-of-the-art facility to process mint and mustard seed used in Colman's Mustard.

This processing is currently done at the Colman’s factory at Carrow Works in Norwich, but the factory is due to close in late 2019. Condimentum Ltd have secured a 10-year supply commitment with Unilever, subject to the new facility going ahead.

Condimentum was formed in March 2017 and is supported by a “grower consortium” responsible for farming 50,000 acres of land throughout Norfolk.

The Food Enterprise Park is part of the Greater Norwich Food Enterprise Zone, which was designated in March 2015 to support sustainable growth of the county's agri-food sector through the co-location of a range of commercial enterprises.

More information about Condimentum's plan are available on the EDP website
